Council Announces Initiative to Map the ICT Sector in New Brunswick

Dec 07, 2011

The NBITC is partnering with the Province and ACOA to establish a more accurate picture of the breadth, depth, and impact of the ICT sector in New Brunswick.   The intent is to make use of the data to help shape policy aimed at increasing ICT`s contribution to the Provincial economy, and to establish a baseline that can used to determine to what extent new and existing programs are effective.

The exercise will include working with StatisticsCanada to mine existing public data, as well as a survey of organizations in the Province who either produce ICT products and services, or rely on ICT to a significant extent to support their operations.

The Council will also be working with Propel, Tech SouthEast, the New Brunswick Business Council, and the Enterprise Agencies to ensure as comprehensive an outcome as possible.
